So I’ve just remembered that I haven’t yet told you about my cake attempts. I had a major shortage of icing so couldn’t ice them in the way that I had wanted to [apparently I was feeling far too lazy to go to the shops].
In the end I did try to make the cakes in an egg shell but they didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped. My first issue was making a hole bit enough to pipe cake mixture into but small enough not to crack the shell completely. It was a nightmare! Then, I muddled up plain flour with raising flour so in the end I needed to sprinkle a little baking powder into the hole. Overall it was somewhat a failure and I couldn’t bring myself to eat them. It’s a shame really :| Oh well, when I have finished my exams [just over a month!!] and I’m not just searching for a break from revision, I might be able to make more successful cakes

*update: I just ate a little bit of one of the egg cakes and it tasted okay-ish, so maybe next time I will use the correct recipe and eat them within 14 days and they will be awesome :) xx
