Today I had my music exam. It was held at my old school because it is an “arts” academy. I always feel like a total loser when I go to them, because so many people learn at such a young age now. Today I felt like the oldest person there, but actually when we were all sat in the hall together I noticed a boy from my ICT class who was sitting grade 5 (he’s 4 months older than me, so that was alright). There were only 3 of us sitting Grade 6 but masses of people doing grades 1-5. There was a hall full of children doing Grades 1-3 and the others were in a room with us. The highest grade being sat was grade 8, and boy doing that had the same time limit as us, so everyone else left between 1-2 hours and the four of us were there for 3 hours!
Anyway, it was a vile paper but I think I did okay. I spent 45 remaining minutes working out my answers on scrap paper to check they were right! Transposition question threw me a bit, but I answered all the questions and hopefully they’re correct :) I’ve done 3 practise papers, and despite going up by 20 marks since the first one, I was one mark away from a pass! So fingers crossed I’ve managed it. Results should be out in 6 weeks :D
When I got home, I realised that it’s fathers day tomorrow and I was yet to buy my dad anything. So I made him meringues (is that how you spell it?!). For my first ever attempt they taste pretty nice, but they do look weird. Next time, I will turn it into a roulade lol.
I also found a recipe for cookies, they didn’t turn out great, I’ll admit. Because my baking trays were full of meringues, I only had one left which I though would be enough. It wasn’t. They all congealed together to make a giant rectangular cookie, apart from they’re too thick to taste like cookies. They’re nice but not quite what I was aiming for lol
Off to a campfire now, Chigwell Row is having a 12 hour campfire to celebrate 75 years of being a campsite with girl guides (or something like that!). So the Rangers are just going for a couple of hours because most of us are revising.
xx
