So here’s the run down…

So, I realise it has been nearly two months since my last post. All I can really do is apologise for that, especially as when I warned that my posts wouldn’t be as frequent I had expected every two weeks or so…it’s not even as if I have nothing to write about…I do…I just…erm…haven’t got round to it. There’s no point in lying!
It’s gone a bit too long for me to be able to log everything interesting I have done since getting here, mainly because I have probably forgotten a lot of it! Normally [*SPOILERS*] I would back date posts and pretend that I had done them ages ago, but 1) I think people would realise, and 2) I can’t be bothered – there, I said it…sorry! Just as a warning, it’s unlikely that this blog post will be in chronological order…but let’s face it, unless you’re reading this and know me [which I found out is a fair few of you] you won’t actually know ;) I am so cheeky - heehee!

Money being an issue, living on your own, I had an interview for Student Ambassador, which I was really pleased about as they had narrowed the interview group down to 50 from 70! Unfortunately they had to narrow those 50 people down to 30, and I was in that 20…but never mind, I will apply again next year and hopefully have better luck. I had the same thing with a proper job interview in town; I didn’t get it :( but it was a seasonal job anyway, so would have been a bit awkward bearing in mind I am going home at Christmas…that is probably why I didn’t get it, to be honest. Hopefully, though, they liked me enouugh to consider me another time :)

I have been out a fair few times since coming to university (it’s expected, I know!), like more times than I had ever been back home. I mean let’s face it, when you’re living with people you can only say no so many times before they start thinking of you as boring. One thing I must definitely say, however, is that I have enjoyed myself every time I have gone out :) [Oh! And the one thing I was extremely worried about – being forced into drinking, hasn’t actually been an issue…well there was one time, but I think once I said some rather harsh words to the person, they realised that it was wrong (and I would get Chris and Wade to beat them to a pulp if they did it again;) )] I have had a few drinks when I’ve been out, obviously, but I haven’t been stupidly drunk or ill, hopefully it won’t happen but you do hear stories! We went to Liquid during our Freshers’ week, amongst other events, as it was a Pirate night. So we all dressed up as pirates, which was pretty awesome!
I recovered from the cough/cold thingy, but then came down with another one just in time for me to visit home – TYPICAL! Chris looked after me, though, as did my parents; they also gave me some cough syrup which is absolutely vile and I can’t decide if it’s working but my theory is if it tastes so disgusting, it must be doing something, right? I was just recovering from the new cough when we decided to have a girly night out a particular bar; it was surreal going into town without the boys [we have a boy in our flat, I’m not sure if I mentioned that before, and there a a couple of other boys who we are friends with so normally go out with them] because I like the idea of having ‘protection’ from the freaky weirdos in the world! It was fine, though, we got a cab to the bar as it was raining and the last thing you want after spending ages getting ready, is ruining your hair and make-up [and outfit!] from rain! It was quite pricey compared to normal, so we decided to walk back afterwards [more on that later]. The weirdest thing about the actual bar was the toilets, which had doors in them which were a bit like windows, so you could see the other person in the toilet opposite. We knew it would be hard to describe, so we took photos:

In the process of coming up with reasonable explanations, I came up with “Well drunk people like to chat; maybe they would get bored otherwise” and the more sensible, “If someone is paralytic, maybe it’s so their friend knows that they are okay”. Whereas, when I told him, Chris came up with “People are perverts” – I love that boy!!
Anyway, after a pretty relaxed and enjoyable night, we decided to walk back to our flats. One might say this was one of those ‘good idea at the time’ moments, as it was absolutely pouring down! We got half way down the road when my flatmate said “Guys, I think he’s about to light a firework” at which point we turned around, saw a man hanging out of the window, about to light a firework which looked like it was aimed directly towards us. I can only apologise to people living down that road, as we screamed [loudly!] and ran [even though we knew we wouldn’t out run it-but it was better than standing still]. Fret not, dear reader, we are all fine :) The firework flew up into the air, which was just as well really, as I probably wouldn’t be writing this if not! When we got back, we were absolutely drenched. I had borrowed a blouse off of my friend which was quite see-through, so i was glad I had decided to wear a vest top under it – that’s all I’m going to say on the matter, other than that’s why I’m ill again! lol

Chris came to visit me just under a month ago, on our year anniversary!♥ So he came bearing a load of gifts; perfumes, chocolate and the softest bear [he’s wearing a tuxedo and everything!]

We had a lovely few days. We went to the cinema to see Johnny English Reborn, which was pretty good – we had wanted to see Real Steel but it wasn’t out yet. Also, we made an Apple Crumble :) It was delicious, so much so that it was demolished before I could take a photograph…we made so much, that we had it instead of dinner – meh, we’re students! ;) We also did the weekly ‘Pub Quiz’ at my student union bar, with the group I always do it in, and we won as a result of a spelling bee [which, I might add, I was the speller (Is that right? Oh, the irony!) for!]

A couple of weeks later, I went back and stayed with him as it was his birthday the day before I came down [Friday afternoon lectures ruined it, but hey-ho!] and then Expo the next day. We went out for a meal at this Thai restaurant that his parents go to, and it was really nice :) They have become friends with the people who own the place, so we ended up having a lock-in and a mini party. Also, when they found out it was for his birthday, they went out and bought him SpongeBob cake – it was so sweet! A good night was had by all :)
The next day, as I mentioned, it was Expo! After such a late night, we decided not to get up for earlybird entry and ended up getting there for about 12 in the end, which was pretty good going actually :) I went as Misa Amane again, but once again forgot to get pictures :( Chris was really happy, as they had a DeLorean [don’t hate me if I spelt it wrong!] and he is a fan of Back to the Future, and as it happened he was wearing his tee-shirt of the film [I bought it for his birthday, along with a bottle of Jeigermeister, and Being Human series 3, as I’m such a lovely girlfriend ;)]which was awesome! So we had a photo with the car :) Oh and I bought a Pac-man energy drink again, but am saving it for when I need a boost!
After Expo we went to my house to see my parents, and we went out for an Indian [first I had had since moving!] which was flipping AMAZING as I had been looking forward to it so much. Chris got another birthday cake, as I had bought the candles and practically forced my parents into buying him a cake ;) so the manager of the restaurant bought it over and we had cake – nom nom nom!

It was my Mum’s birthday the Thursday I would be back at uni, so I bought her a top/dress thing which I thought was really nice [she said she likes it too, so hopefully that’s true!] and a card which I told her to open on her actual birthday. Spent a couple of nights with my parents, and then round Chris’s before I headed back to good ol’ uni.
A group of us went to a firework display on Guy Fawkes night, which was a really nice evening. It was beautiful, and there was a lot there – stalls, I mean, and local companies. The fireworks were absolutely gorgeous though; next year we are going to buy tickets in advance, though, as it was £9 entry on the door, and only £6 in advance. It was organised by the Scouts, and after a chat with the Scout leaders, me and my friend considered joining up. I went to their bonfire, but after reading the programme I have decided it’s a little too boyish for me; next year I am going to find a Brownie Pack locally, as I really miss my girls. My friend is still going to join, though, as apparently she likes that kind of thing; I think it was the ‘Winter Hike and Camp’ which put me off, I’m a total wimp, lol!

Another thing I have been thinking about a lot since moving, is getting fairy lights. I know lots of people think it is tacky [which I agree I used to], but the more I have thought about it, the more I want some. I found some in Homebase that I really like, they would match my colour scheme, and they are half price at the moment - £3.99! The only problem is that the shop isn’t within walking distance so I would have to either get a cab - £5.60 one way, or get them delivered £5.95. This means that they are suddenly not so cheap any more :( so I’m not sure what I am going to do yet…

I think that’s the basic run down, so far. Obviously I’ve missed things out, but I can’t help that :) Chris is coming to visit again in 15 days, and I’m looking forward to it so much! It feels like I’ve been back in Ipswich for way longer than a fortnight, and we haven’t even reached those 14 days yet!
xx
