Cardiff

 

Good morning! This is a scheduled post because, as you are reading this, we are on the road to Cardiff! Yes, we finally managed to book it after lots of hassle! Believe it or not, the most difficult thing about finding somewhere to stay was finding somewhere with parking included, or at least at a reasonable rate; if it’s going to cost £16.50 a day just to park in the hotel for which you’re already spending £500, it adds up quite considerably! Nevertheless we eventually found somewhere and although it’s not quite the Hilton, I’m sure it will suffice just for resting in!

So, why Cardiff? I am a huge Doctor Who and Torchwood fan-girl so where better to visit than the home of the biggest rift in time and space?! Besides that, I haven’t been to Wales since I was a lot younger and have wanted to go and visit for ages.

I am very much looking forward to seeing the sights in the proper tourist fashion, with my camera at hand for every photographic opportunity. We (although I’m fairly sure it’s mainly me) are looking forward to going to the Doctor Who Exhibition, and to be honest that is definitely one  of my main reasons for wanting to go to Cardiff - I hope it proves to be worth seeing! The one place I remember visiting as a child is Techniquest, and as somebody who finds the children’s section of London Science museum the most interesting, I hope we will get a chance to go there too! Tesco is doing their double points thing again this year,  so I have applied for £20 of Techniquest vouchers, which should save us some money!

We are off for a week, and I’m not gonna lie to you, I don’t really know what else we will get up to but no doubt I will let you all know as soon as I’m back!
