Before I left my university house for summer, my housemates taught me how to knit. There’s no point in denying my poor ability in the knitting department, but I thought that now I have the basic skills in place, I would take on a little challenge. You may or may not have noticed that come November time, the little Innocent smoothie bottles seem to gain a chill and don woolly hats whilst they keep cool in the fridges. So this year I decided to jump on the bandwagon:

‘What are all these little hats for?’ I hear you ask. Well, dear reader, it is a novel way of raising money for Age UK. There are now more people in the UK aged 60+ than there are under 18, which means that charities need the funds to be able to look after the elderly people. So crafty (and not so crafty) people around the UK send in miniature hats that they have knitted ready for them to be placed onto bottles and sold. People send in all sorts of wacky designs, but for now I am going to stick with simple styles which I am sure I will upload some photos once I’ve finished a few!
