Travel Series: Cardiff. Day 3

On Wednesday we took a drive to St Fagans which is a collection of old buildings which have been relocated and refurbished from around Wales over hundreds of years.
It was really interesting to see how the style of houses and shops have changed over hundreds of years.

There was a supposed 'castle' in the grounds...I say 'supposed', because once we had hunted it down we realised that it was simply a beautiful, huge house. Thinking about it, I guess that's basically what a castle is, but it's not what we expected.

Then we popped to Barry Island just to look around as we have seen it so often on Gavin and Stacy. As predicted, it was hardly picture perfect; let's not forget that the humour in the series is not based on a life long ambition to live there! In fact, one could say I felt a little sorry for the seaside town, especially when one of the top searched results on Google is, 'is Barry Island Pleasure Beach closed down?'

We didn't do into the Pleasure Beach for several reasons, the main being that we didn't want to but also, it just looked really decrepit and run down. It was great to have a little roam around the town and see areas which I recognised from the TV programme, though!

Recognise Marco's from several episodes of Gavin and Stacey? They eat chips at the railings there!
I just found this news story hilarious!
