My trip to Canterbury x

So,tomorrow I am going to a university open day (Kent) to make a final decision on whether I want to go there. I'm at a very difficult stage in my application because I have had 5 offers and I have to choose 2 of them-one 'conditional' where I really like it but has slightly high grades, and another 'insurance' choice which is my "Just in case your grades aren't as good as anticipated". I have already decided on my insurance choice-University Campus Suffolk :) I went to visit it with my boyfriend last friday and really liked it! But it's the main choice I'm struggling with; it's a toss-up between Essex and Kent so I'm visiting them both to make a final decision.

Anyway, to make sure we are there on time tomorrow we are staying in a really nice hotel in canterbury it has free wifi and a swimming pool and really nice food!(thinking wifi, any errors in this post blame on the fact I'm typing this on my iPod!). So, this evening, I went for a swim.
It must have been the first time in well over a year but despite being a really poor swimmer, I didn't drown and I actually really enjoyed it :) Only down side is that I now smell of chlorine, even though I showered with what felt like a bucketful of shampoo haha-maybe it's the shampoo?!
Anyway, after the swim we went for dinner in the hotel's restaurant. I had 'Homemade leek and potato soup, topped with a crunchy bacon pieces' for starter, followed by 'Braised lamb shank in a red wine, butter bean and rosemary jus' and 'Warm Kentish apple tarte tatin, a caramelised apple and blackberry tart, with cinnamon ice-cream' for dessert. It was all really delicious! The lamb was so good, you could eat it from the bone with no trouble whatsoever, although the butter beans made it extremely filling. And wow, just wow, cinnamon ice cream? I'm going to have to look out for some in the shops,  I think if you could taste heaven lol, that would be it!
Can't help feeling I've eaten my share of food for a week, 'though!

I wish we were staying more than just one night, it's really relaxing. After dinner I had a game of backgammon with my mum over a cup of coffee (I won but I'm no sure we were playing it right haha!)It's an expensive place but rather luxurious-gonna have to make the most of stuff like this if I'm going to become a poor, debt ridden student haha! Anyway, hopefully I will get some photos of the place before we leave :) xxx
* Got a couple of pictures when we left:
