I just watched a vlog by freyaflobster about wanting to spend some time travelling and it got me thinking about holidays. As you know [if you have read my previous blogs] I'm in my last year of college now and as a result had hoped to go on holiday with my friends as we have an ultra long summer. Three years ago we all decided that we would go to Greece after getting our A-levels but I think we underestimated the time needed to plan and most importantly the amount it would cost. Not only this, we aren't as close as we used to be. It's not that we have fallen out or anything [that's an odd phrase...fallen out of what? one might ask. But not you, I'm sure my trusty followers are aware of my intended semantics here] we have just expanded our social groups resulting in us not being as close as we were.
Anyway, it had been a while since we discussed it and we knew it was too late to get a cheap deal [last minute used to be cheapest, but not any more! I mean, sure, if you don't care where you end up it can be a bargain but I'm not really a club 18/30 person and I don't think my friends are either]. We did think about a week's break in the UK in a caravan or something but I don't think it's going to happen to be honest. My best friend is using the excuse that "we were going to go as couples and I'm not a couple anymore", we had never really planned to go as a couple so that's not really an excuse :|
Anywhoo...I like relaxed holidays, where I can roam the local area and not do anything. It is nice to have the opportunity to lounge by a pool but I get bored really easily when it comes to sunbathing [and I get burned really easily!] so it doesn't really bother me, especially as I'm not a strong swimmer.

I don't think it really would matter where we ended up, none of us can really afford very much. It would just be nice to spend time together as adults (we're all 18 now) before heading our separate ways. Maybe we will end up doing something but at this rate I doubt it.
My parents want me to get a summer job (I agree actually. I finish my exams on 24th June and if all goes to plan should be starting university in September, so it's a good three months) but the problem with that is a 'summer job' is a summer job so as it's a short amount of time in the scheme of things I think they would expect someone to work all summer without a break, which pretty much puts the mockers on a holiday. I do have a couple of dates in my diary which I am determined not to miss as I missed them last year and have regretted it ever since, 12th-14th August...Summer In The City!!!

Enjoyed reading this. It's always hard organizing huge things like that! Thanks for the mention too :D
