I started blogging several years ago, after deciding that it would be a great hobby to allow me to look back on the different things I have done in my life. Although I have been working on it for over two years now, I have not yet found my niche and am aware that my blog is a little bit of a mish-mash of content! In many ways, it could be argued that it reflects my personality as I would not categorize myself in any particular way. If you read my blog, you will experience little aspects of my life as I do, whether it be lifestyle, cookery or events!

My blog name 'Alaska' was inspired by a book I read by John Green, in which the character was allowed to choose her own name as a child. Much as I would not allow a child to choose their own name myself, I love the way it reflects individuality [somewhat ironic when you realise that I have not been individual by borrowing a name!]

At 20 years old, I am primarily based at my university in East Anglia, but also spend some of my time at home in Greater London with my parents and boyfriend. Many of my posts refer to various train journeys I take going to and from university!

I am currently studying English in my second year of university, from which I eventually aim to move onto a post graduate course in Speech Therapy.
