If I’m honest, I had been dreading this day for ages. Not because of the early start, but because I don’t like rollercoasters. They scare the bejeezus out of me, and when you are going as a group you don’t want to seem a spoilsport being bag person all.the.time.
So today, I wasn’t sure what I would do because obviously I didn’t want to go on the rides but didn’t want to seem boring. I surprised myself, to be honest. We got there shortly after opening time and as the queues hadn’t had chance to get too huge yet we lined up for Rita (0-100kph in 2.5 seconds) and THI3TEEN, and I did them both :D My heart had never beat so fast but it was good fun. I went on a fair few rides throughout the day but those two were definitely the biggest I could cope with. I did draw the line at some the others went on, such as Oblivion –150m vertical drop into a hole…erm no thanks. They loved it, but just watching them turned my stomach.

We went on the Flume and got absolutely, truly, utterly drenched, but I think it was totally worth it :)
When the others went on rides me and Katie didn’t want to go on, we wandered about and found the most fantastic “Donuts” ever. They were freshly made and so the were warm and delicious! One of the funniest moments of the day was when we were on Blade and Katie (sitting next to me) started talking. So I turned round, thinking she must be talking to me...and she was on the phone! "I'm at Alton Towers on a ride at the minute...can I call you back?" It was hilarious but I was so scared she was going to drop her phone! Luckily it survived the ride lol, and she rang the girl back later... :)
It was a really good day, and despite the odd blip the weather seemed to hold out pretty well for us too.
Going to the Travelodge to drop off our bits now, and then off to find somewhere to eat x
On Monday, Chris and I are visiting my Grandparents as they live near a beach so hopefully the weather will be nice then too :) That’s the next thing to look forward to
xx
