I had only bought a single ticket, as I knew I was getting a lift back. It was valid to Greenwich as I was meeting Chris at his uni, but for some reason the ticket wasn't accepted at the Canary Wharf barrier and due to a considerable lack of station staff, there was nobody to swipe me out. This meant that I had to either shout at the top of my voice for assistance, or scan out with my Oyster card instead. Not one to draw attention to myself, I chose the latter option. This resulted in a £6.80 charge for an 'unfinished journey', so I spoke to someone when I finally found a person in TFL attire. He suggested that the woman at the ticket booth may be able to refund me, so I went and asked. She said that in actual fact I had to phone the helpline 24 hours later and they would refund me. She printed off a receipt so I could see what had happened and so I had evidence when talking to the helpline and low and behold they had charged me a further £6.90! I was not impressed, and realising that I had no money for my weekend Oyster journeys and that for some reason I could not get in touch with Chris (turns out Greenwich sucks for signal...) I got all upset. Luckily I met up with him fine, he topped up my Oyster, and bought me chocolate to cheer me up which was lovely :)
Anyway, Saturday's Expo! After a long search around the huge warehouse-type building which they call the Excel centre, I finally found the stand selling Sopio cards. It was incredible to see how many girls are obsessed with one person. The stand was engulfed with girls aged between 16 and 22 all trying to see their favourite Youtuber. Poor Chris was practically smothered as he stood there trying to take a photograph for me, as the girls just seemed to multiply! Anyway, I got my cards and a wristband (it's a band on your wrist, i.e. people playing drums, guitar etc!) as well as a photograph with Alex (he apologised that we had such difficulty finding the stand, but I told him it wasn't his fault ;) ), but can safely say I'm definitely not as crazy as some girls!
I'm not totally sure if we'll go to the next one, as the general crowds were horrible. Normally they are bad but not to that extent! I'm sure we will decide nearer the time.
The dinner we had with Chris's parents was delicious. His mum had cooked an American themed meal, with ribs, chicken wings etc for starters, and Sloppy Joe burgers (homemade burgers and homemade chilli) for main. It was so lovely!
On Sunday I went to see my parents which was lovely as I hadn't had a fantastic week and was looking forward to seeing them. My dad cooked a wonderful roast with all the trimmings - there was even enough for me to take the rest back to uni on the monday! On Monday we went to a Wetherspoons in town before my lecture which was certainly a good start to the day.
xx
